How to join the crowdfunding craze and help a classroom of your choice


It may come as no surprise that crowdfunding— or the collective effort of individuals on social networking sites to support the efforts of others—exploded in popularity with organizations like Kickstarter and DonorsChoose. What may raise some eyebrows is its effect on young people. According to a study by the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and the United Nations Foundation, 90 percent of children polled from ages 8 to 19 had given money to a charity.


Will you join them? Thanks to 2,200 of these citizen philanthropists of all ages, and our partnership with DonorsChoose, nearly 33,000 students received the learning materials they need to thrive!
