Innovation Grant Final Report Requirements
The Innovation Grant final report should comprise two parts:
1. a narrative of your accomplishments
2. a financial report of expenditures
As you write the narrative section of the report, please address the items listed below. We also welcome your ideas for strengthening the design of the Innovation Grants Program.
Narrative Section
- What were the measurable goals for your Innovation Grant? Did you modify those goals and why?
- What did students achieve through the project? Describe how you evaluated the student outcomes? If you created a rubric to assess student work, please attach a copy.
- How many students have been reached through the project? How many faculty, parents, and other adults were affected by this project?
- Describe other major results of the work.
- What do you consider the most successful aspects of the project? If barriers arose, please describe them and the actions you took to address them.
- How have you shared this project with faculty and students beyond your own classroom or course, and what have been the results?
- How has this project strengthened the overall curriculum?
- Have you had the opportunity to reflect upon your project with your critical friend? Please describe the reflection process and the data used during the review.
- Please comment on the feedback your critical friend provided and how you used the feedback to enhance your project.
- How effective was the critical friend experience? What contribution did your critical friend make to the success of your Innovation Grant?
- How did you learn about the Innovation Grant Program? Have you encouraged your colleagues to apply for an Innovation Grant?
- Now that your project is complete, how innovative would you rate it on a scale from one to five? (Use 1 for break the mold, 3 for one-of-a-kind project in your district, and 5 for a variation of an established idea or curriculum.)
- How long have you worked as a public education employee?
- What advice do you have for The NEA Foundation that would improve the guidelines for the Innovation Grant Program?
Financial Section
- Please list the amount and a description of each expense, as well as the amount and source of matching funds, if any, for the expense.
The final report should include a copy of any materials developed under the grant (for example, lesson plans or samples of student work), as well as any press clippings you may have gathered.
