About this Grantee

Using a multidisciplinary approach, students will explore the world by reading Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night's Dream.” Common Core standards will be brought to life as the text of the play becomes a gateway into astronomy, botany, social science, history and literature. Students will additionally explore the music of The Beatles and discover the thematic and poetic commonalities that exist between the Elizabethan worldview and modern concerns. The students will use this understanding to integrate music into the play.
