About this Grantee

Mrs. MacDonald and Ms. Garison-Gabbard will lead a professional learning community that will engage in lesson study to examine elements specific to teaching biology and English language arts as a cross-curricular experience. Educators will engage students in a unit that will provide opportunities to discuss themes of race and identity as sociocultural constructs and explore scientific evidence that refutes race as a genetic construct. The lesson study will allow a close examination of teacher practice connected to student outcomes.
