Peter I. Belk is an Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Atlas Research LLC, a consultancy providing services in government related research, project management, and program support.

Having spent over fifteen years in international and domestic public and private sector practice, Belk also served in the White House as a special assistant for the Office of the Counsel to the President; a special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research; and as an analyst for political-military issues in the Middle East and South Asia in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research in the Department of State.  In addition, he was assigned to the United Nations Special commission (UNSCOM) as a biological weapons inspector in Iraq.  Belk also served on active and reserve duty as a military intelligence officer in the U.S. Army. 

Belk obtained a BA in political science from the University of Pennsylvania; an MA in national security studies from Georgetown University and a JD from Columbia University School of Law.
