To provide an outlet for hands-on, inquiry-based learning, Mrs. Keltner and Mrs. Dunkerson will work in collaboration with their community to create an educational garden accessible to all students. The outdoor classroom will include raised garden beds, a high tunnel, a greenhouse, and a class meeting area. The team will focus on including garden features that will assist them in meeting Common Core Standards through the use of interdisciplinary teaching methods and sense-based learning. In addition to being used during school hours, the garden will be used in after-school and summer programs.
