Through “Art in the Community,” Washburn High School will offer students an art course that will encourage students to examine relevant social issues. Students will work with artists from throughout the Twin Cities to create artwork and theater projects and attend Augsburg College’s annual Nobel Peace Prize Youth Festival. Ultimately, students will demonstrate new visual art techniques, collaborate effectively with others, and gain a deeper understanding of empathy, critical thinking, and problem solving.
