Dr. Peck and Dr. Shema will develop workshops for K-6 educators focusing on the curricular benefits of face-to-face classroom games, where participants play various games to become familiar with their benefits and limitations, read and discuss empirical literature about the cognitive and socio-emotional development learning that occurs during gameplay, and understand the mechanics of game design. Participating educators will be able to articulate the value of games in learning, incorporate games into curriculum, and modify, adapt, and create their own games. The team will present findings at conferences and use the data to inform course instruction for teacher candidates.
