Ms. Kibler will implement “The Power of Place Value,” a professional development initiative aimed at increasing student growth in place value understanding. Ms. Kibler will attend the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Annual Meeting and sessions focusing on sense, place value, and the Common Core Learning Standards. Upon returning to her district, Ms. Kibler will lead colleagues in a program to develop curriculum that will include hands-on learning, instruction, parent communication, school wide activities, and assessment.
