To meet the needs of struggling learners at United West Elementary, Mrs. McVey and Mrs. Lafever will use Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention Kits for literacy interventions. The kits will provide the materials necessary to implement intensive small group interventions for students who are performing below grade level expectations. Lessons will provide direct instruction in the areas of fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, phonics, word work, and writing about reading. Additionally, the kits will provide opportunities for students to take home leveled readers to practice with their families.
