To increase mastery of specific math skills, Kelley and Harris will create a study group that will target third and fourth grade students. During weekly discussions students will utilize the abacus, which they will use to solve rigorous problems regarding place value and basic arithmetic. In each session students will model, justify, and solve problems using the abacus and several other methods and strategies.
