To improve student inquiry skills in the laboratory, Schmidt and colleagues will incorporate the use of Vernier probeware in chemistry experiments. A series of inquiry lab exercises will be designed that allow students to ask questions and design procedures to answer their questions. Students will use pH probes, conductivity probes, and temperature probes to investigate the pH of different water sources, the conductivity of solutions, and temperature changes in both physical and chemical processes. Additionally, students in AP Chemistry will use the probeware in updated AP Chemistry inquiry labs.
