Angela Eckhoff

Dr. Eckhoff will guide a teacher learning community of recent graduates as they navigate their first teaching year in a primary grades classroom. Acting as a participant observer, Dr. Eckhoff will facilitate face-to-face and virtual meetings, collect group artifacts, preserve transcripts from meetings, visit community members’ classrooms, and maintain field notes documenting the work of the community throughout the year. Through the implementation and documentation of the community, Dr. Eckhoff will contribute to understandings of the impact of such groups on novice teachers’ identities and teaching practices as they navigate the complexities of contemporary, early childhood classrooms.
