A team of high school and college teachers will coordinate “GEARed UP for Truman,” a summer college readiness program for Chicago public high school graduates who have applied to Truman College and tested below college levels on the COMPASS placement exam. The team will build a community of students and supportive adults who focus on mathematics and college readiness. Ultimately, the program will reduce the number of developmental courses needed by students by getting them closer to college level math.
