Maryjane Utley

Through “Retooling Schooling: Student Directed Learning in the High School Science Classroom,” Ms. Utley and Mrs. Fastovsky will meet the needs of students in heterogeneously grouped science classrooms while providing opportunities to develop and practice 21st century skills. Using Next Generation Science Standards as guidance and current literature on self-directed learning as references, Ms. Utley and Mrs. Fastovsky will design classroom learning centers that contain thematic units focused on topics of study.
