Mrs. Liberio and Mrs. Hoekstra will introduce touch screen technology to encourage increased academic participation and communication by special needs students diagnosed with autism, Asperger’s, nonverbal learning disorders, and learning difficulties. Students will gain instructional information by kinesthetically, visually, and auditorially increasing their awareness of surrounding environments. The use of iPads will allow nonverbal students to become members of a highly social technological environment and will provide them with a conduit to communicate in the classroom more effectively.
