To promote global thinking and strengthen students’ reading and writing skills, Mrs. Heideman and Ms. Middendorf will instruct their students to read narrative, nonfiction text based on young adults from a variety of geographic areas. Students will build and practice reading strategies through daily written responses and class discussions via Socratic circles. Additionally, students will write, compare, and contrast essays based on two characters’ lives that relate to their own lives and communities.
