About this Grantee

Physics students at HB Woodlawn School will investigate the feasibility of generating electricity using wind turbines.  Students will first receive instruction on the physics of wind turbine design and then coach middle school students working in groups to build a highly efficient turbine blade.  Using a high speed camera, middle and high school students will analyze and modify blade effectiveness.  The results will be reported to the Arlington Government's Community Energy Forum, which is currently investigating ways to reduce reliance on carbon for energy production.
