The NEA Foundation takes pride in the number of high-quality Learning & Leadership and Student Achievement grant proposals it receives. Since we unfortunately cannot fund all of these worthy proposals, we encourage applicants to consider multiple sources of funding when completing a grant application. Below are just a few select resources for educators searching for additional grant opportunities.
NEA Grants – The National Education Association offers multiple grants to public school educators throughout the nation, as well as information on other available grants. The maximum award varies.
American Chemical Society Hach High School Chemistry Grant
American Chemical Society Hach High School Chemistry Grant – Through the Hach High School Chemistry Grants, ACS supports ideas that transform classroom learning, foster student development, and reveal the wonder of chemistry. The maximum award is $1,500.
Dominion Foundation Education Partnership Grants
Dominion Foundation Education Partnership Grants – The Dominion Foundation accepts applications for grants that encourage the development of new programs to strengthen math and science education in K-12 classrooms. The maximum award is $10,000.
Entertainment Software Association Grants for Youth Programs
Entertainment Software Association Grants for Youth Programs – The ESA Foundation is dedicated to supporting geographically diverse projects and programs that benefit American youth of all races and denominations and make a difference in the quality of their life, health, and welfare. The maximum award is $50,000.
McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Academic Enrichment Grants
McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Academic Enrichment Grants – The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation offers Academic Enrichment Grants designed to develop in-class and extracurricular programs that improve student learning. The foundation considers proposals that foster understanding, deepen students' knowledge, and provide opportunities to expand awareness of the world around them. The maximum award is $10,000 per year for three years.
McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Teacher Development Grants
McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Teacher Development Grants – McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Teacher Development Grants provide funding to individuals or small teams of teachers in the formation and implementation of groundbreaking K-12 classroom instruction. The grants provide opportunities for teachers to integrate fresh strategies that encourage critical inquiry and to observe their effects on students. The maximum award is $10,000.
National Science Teachers Association Awards
National Science Teachers Association Awards – The NSTA offers a number of awards for science teachers looking to expand classroom learning or professional development. The maximum award is $10,000.
National Weather Association Sol Hirsch Teacher Grants
National Weather Association Sol Hirsch Teacher Grants – National Weather Association Sol Hirsch Teacher Grants funds projects that seek to improve students' education in meteorology. Teachers selected will be able to use the funds to take an accredited course in atmospheric sciences, attend a relevant workshop or conference, or purchase scientific materials or equipment for the classroom. The maximum award is $750.
