Melissa Peterson and Heidi Brislin will participate in the Teaching Movements for Communication Course, offered by the Assistive Technology Unit at the University of Illinois Chicago. This in-depth course is taught by Claire Cotter, Gayle Porter, and Linda Burkhardt, all renowned leaders in the field of Assistive Technology. The weeklong intensive course will provide the training needed to use movement to help significantly disabled children communicate. Upon competition of this course, Melissa and Heidi will be able to provide access to language for students who have physical challenges and difficulty operating assistive technology devices.
