Stretching students’ critical-thinking skills beyond 140 characters

With your support, we’ve funded more than 1,000 NEA member project on DonorsChoose.org, providing learning materials to nearly 80,000 students. 800 projects still await your support. Help a classroom today, and we’ll match your donation.

Have you ever asked your students where they go for news? According to last year’s Pew Research Center study, half of Americans now get their news digitally, which is why Ms. Klann, an English Language Arts educator at Totem Middle School in Marysville, WA, has requested a subscription to the New York Times Upfront classroom magazine. The subscription includes a digital edition with links to videos, discussion questions, and more,

Help her seventh graders stay informed on national and international news, both past and present, and build critical thinking skills by supporting Klann’s project on DonorsChoose.org.

Or find another inspiring NEA member project to support. You can browse by subject, grade, location, or keyword.

For every dollar you give, the NEA Foundation will give one, too!
