Report: Confronting Systemic Inequity in Education

How can philanthropy be more effective at deploying its limited resources to help reform and improve our nation’s school systems?

That is one of the central questions addressed in an informative new report issued by by the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy and co-authored by NEA Foundation board member Kevin Welner.

The report offers strategies for how education grantmakers can more effectively address inequity in education. It suggests a targeted focus on the needs of marginalized students to improve education for all students and the support of long-term efforts that seek to influence education policy through advocacy, community organizing and civic engagement.
