Tia Dowdell

Tia Dowdell is a Relationship Manager and Vice President for the Bank of America Global Commercial Bank in the Healthcare, Education and Not-for-Profit (HENFP) specialty group, having joined the team in 2020. In this role, Tia works with large, complex healthcare organizations and traditional not for profits to understand their strategic goals and operating needs in order to deliver industry-focused expertise in treasury, credit and investments. She leads a team of treasury and credit specialists, support personnel and extended bank partners to provide seamless service and product and solution delivery to clients.

Prior to joining HENFP, Tia spent 13 years as a Business Development Specialist with the Institutional Investments & Philanthropic Solutions group within the Private Bank. There she served as a subject matter expert to advisors at the Private Bank and Merrill who pursued investment management opportunities in the not for profit market space. Tia began her career with Bank of America in 1998 as a marketing intern. Throughout her tenure, she held positions as a Client Manager in the Premier Banking and Investments group and as a Banking Center Manager in the Consumer Banking channel. In addition to working at Bank of America, she has held marketing positions at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch in McLean, Virginia. Tia obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the George Mason University School of Management. She holds Series 7 and Series 66 FINRA licenses.

Tia has a passion for Diversity & Inclusion and is involved in many firm-based and community-based initiatives. Tia is the founding Vice President and current Professional Development Committee Chair of the DC Chapter of the Bank of America Black Professional Group. Additionally she has been appointed to serve on the board of the National Education Association Foundation, MeritusHealth Foundation and the Racial Equity Committee for the Frederick County Public School system. Tia also is a former Director-at-Large of the George Mason University Alumni Association where she is currently an active member.

Tia is an avid traveler and a student of yoga and meditation. She lives in Frederick, Maryland with daughter, London.
