Behind every student who reads above grade level, who stays in school, who believes in their own future, there is an educator who refuses to give up on them. Teacher Appreciation Week is our moment to say thank you, and to make sure educators have what they need to keep doing this essential work. The NEA Foundation invests in public school educators through grants, fellowships, and professional learning because we believe that when educators thrive, students thrive.

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we hope you will join us in celebrating and supporting the educators who are showing up for every student every day.

What They Do

Teaching is more than a job. It is a daily commitment to every student in that room, no matter what they carry through the door.

Start Teacher Appreciation Week with a social media shoutout to an educator who shows up and is making a difference every day and add #EveryStudentEveryDay

What They Need

Too many educators work in communities where public schools have been chronically underfunded. That is an equity issue, and one The NEA Foundation is working to change.

What Students Say

The best testimony for an educator comes from the students they serve. Take a moment to hear how students describe the impact educators have on their lives.

How We Show Up

We close the week the same way educators close every school year: with gratitude, pride, and a commitment to come back stronger. Thank you for standing with us as we lift up educators who are there for every student, every day.

Join us in continuing this work beyond Teacher Appreciation Week and stay connected as we share ways to support and celebrate educators all year long.

Give to Thank a Teacher

Every gift made during Teacher Appreciation Week supports NEA Foundation grants and programs that serve public school educators around the country. When you give, you are joining educators in their efforts to show up for every student, every day, and making a meaningful difference for young people and school communities across the United States.

Want to make an impact year-round? Just like a commitment to a monthly streaming service, make your gift monthly and ensure educators and students can count on your support every day.

Your contribution makes a real difference:

  • Supports field trips and competitions that nurture student interest in STEM and robotics
  • Enables educators to create school-based food pantries that serve students and their communities
  • Help educators bring cultural understanding and real-world global perspectives into their classrooms

These are just a few examples of the practical ways our programs, with your support, benefit educators and the students they serve.
