NEA Foundation and Verizon Offer Wireless Customers a Connection to Support America’s Educators and Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 27, 2020) – The NEA Foundation today announced an initiative with Verizon Wireless that gives wireless customers an opportunity to show their support and appreciation for teachers, students, and education support professionals as they head back to school, whether online or in classrooms. The Customer Bill Pay Charitable Donation Program enables Verizon customers to round up their bill and give educators and students the tools and support critically needed, perhaps now more than ever.

“The NEA Foundation deeply appreciates Verizon’s recognition that teachers and education support professionals often reach into their own pockets and, in so many other ways, go above and beyond to meet children’s’ needs. They’re our unsung heroes,” said Sara A. Sneed, president and CEO of the NEA Foundation. “Now Verizon customers also can show their support, and in such an easy way, that will mean so much to so many.”

Starting with the “back to school” season, Verizon customers can round up the change on their payment to donate to the NEA Foundation online on Verizon’s website, on the Verizon app, or through the mail. The donations will help the NEA Foundation in its mission to support America’s educators and students, advancing the best in public education.

“Verizon is proud to partner with The NEA Foundation to continue to support education and learning during this challenging time,” said Angie Klein, senior vice president of consumer segment marketing for Verizon. “At Verizon we are committed to providing teachers and students with a wide range of tools, resources and the immediate support needed to make this school year productive, while also building for the future.”
