The NEA Foundation today announced Tiffany L. Taber as its new Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications and Marketing. Tiffany brings 20 years of experience in education, public service, philanthropy, and nonprofit leadership to direct the Foundation’s communications strategy.
Tiffany most recently served as a vice president at United Way Worldwide—the largest privately funded nonprofit organization in the world—where she served as a senior advisor to the president and CEO, led high-level stakeholder engagement, and managed executive communications.
Previously, Tiffany served at the U.S. Department of Education where she held numerous senior leadership roles as a policy advisor, message strategist, and Cabinet-level speechwriter for four U.S. Secretaries of Education across three presidential administrations. Tiffany also partnered with the president and CEO and executive team at The Education Trust, where she drove the national nonprofit’s thought leadership and organizational strategy in education policy and advocacy.
She began her career as a site director for a Washington, D.C.-based community nonprofit and as a public high school teacher in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tiffany earned a master’s degree in education policy and management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in English, with certification in secondary education, from Connecticut College.
