Join us LIVE Friday night for the NEA Foundation’s Salute to Excellence in Education Gala, and find out who will receive some of public education’s most prestigious awards. With 36 fabulous nominees, you’re bound to see someone you know on stage!
Invite your friends, family, colleagues, and students to be a part of this national celebration of public education.
When should you tune in? The show starts at 7:30 p.m. ET. Check out our schedule of events for details.
The evening will be hosted by Phylicia Rashad, a multi-talented Tony Award-winning actress, singer, stage director, and educator. You may know her as Claire Huxtable from “The Cosby Show.”
Nearly 80 students from Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools will take us on a virtual world tour through the performing arts. From salsa dancing, to madrigal singing, to African drumming: we have a little something for everyone. Don’t miss our finale performance, featuring Ms. Rashad joining students in a powerful musical ensemble.
Also up, the dynamic Timothy Shriver, accepting the Security Benefit Award for Outstanding Service to Public Education on behalf of Special Olympics.
We hope you’ll actively join the conversation by following us on Twitter at @NEAFoundation and tweeting your reactions and photos. Be sure to use the official hashtag #neafgala14.
